Armstrong Kutz Lawyers is a boutique legal practice with offices at Oxford Street in Bulimba. MaryAnn grew up in country Queensland. Her early childhood was spent on a sheep and cattle property on the Warrego River, between the towns of Charleville and Cunamulla. She went to boarding school at Rockhampton Girls Grammar School when she was in year five, and then boarded at The Glennie School in Toowoomba before finishing her schooling at Dalby State High School, where she was the vice captain of the school in year 12.

Upon completing her secondary education, MaryAnn resided in Brisbane and then Charleville, before living on Norfolk Island where she married. In 1993, she returned to Queensland and started her Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) at the University of Southern Queensland. MaryAnn graduated winning a university prize, and an early childhood prize for being first in class. During this degree, MaryAnn had her first 2 children.

MaryAnn then worked as an educator at Toowoomba Anglican College and Preparatory School -TACAPS- (known as Toowoomba Prep in those days) from 1997 to 2004. MaryAnn later completed her Master of Education, with an excellent achievement grade point average of 6, before deciding in 2008 to begin a Juris Doctor.

On commencing her postgraduate degree in law, MaryAnn had six children, one of whom was just a baby. She worked part-time at the University of Southern Queensland Law School, and the Faculty of Business during her first year of full-time study.

 

At the beginning of her second year, she decided to move to Brisbane to seek full-time work in a legal practice, so as to enhance her practical exposure to working in the law. She continued to study on a full-time basis whilst working full-time for a solicitor in Sandgate. MaryAnn continued to raise her young family whilst working and studying full-time.

During her Juris Doctor, MaryAnn was invited to join the Golden Key Society and Oxford Street Business Association. Memberships of these international collegiate honour societies are by invitation only, and applies to the top 15% of university students worldwide, based solely on academic achievements. MaryAnn is proud to be a lifelong member of Golden Key, a society that is committed to a high standard of scholastic achievement with an ethos of integrity, innovation, respect, collaboration and diversity.

In 2010 , she completed her Juris Doctor with an exceptional grade point average of 6.3. She then completed her Practical Legal Training Course before being admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court in 2011. After her admission, MaryAnn continued to work as a supervised solicitor holding a supervised practising certificate for a further 2 years. After completing her Practice Management Course at the Queensland Law Society, MaryAnn obtained a Principal Practising Certificate.

MaryAnn then became a Legal Practitioner Director and established two law firms for a company located in Stafford, before establishing her own firm, Armstrong Kutz Lawyers, in February 2014. Qualified to appear in both Queensland State Court and Federal Court, MaryAnn is also a sworn Justice of the Peace, a member of the Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland and The Queensland Law Society. MaryAnn has been nominated for numerous awards over the years, including a Lawyers Weekly award. In 2021 MaryAnn received a Queensland Day Award at Parliament House in Brisbane for her contribution to her local community.

MaryAnn is a passionate, enthusiastic, effective and efficient lawyer, who works extremely hard for her clients and to reach their desired outcomes. She offers legal assistance in all areas of law, and has a wide network of peers to refer to if required. MaryAnn has spent a considerable amount of time working with victims of child sexual abuse, and campaigns for their cause with a strong and informed voice. She works tirelessly for Family Law Client's and victims of family violence. She is a general practitioner with a determination to help people find solutions at all stages of their lives.

Born and bred in Brisbane, Jeffrey attended Holland Park Primary and the Anglican Church Grammar School for his primary school education. In his secondary educational years he attended Brisbane Boys College.

Jeffrey completed his law degree at QUT and has been a practising solicitor since 2013. Since completing his Bachelor of Laws at QUT Jeffrey has worked in a number of boutique firms in Brisbane and has been with Armstrong Kutz since 2015.

Jeffrey has spent many years in the legal profession before becoming a practicing solicitor.It was in 2013 that he met MaryAnn Armstrong and decided to obtain his practicing certificate so that they could work together at another  law firm in Brisbane.

It was during this time that they both realised that they worked extremely well together and held similar beliefs and values in relation to the delivery of professional services. It is for that reason that they work so closely to this day. Jeffrey had no hesitation in joining MaryAnn at Armstrong Kutz Lawyers once it was established in Bulimba.

Jeffrey has a wide level of experience in many areas of law. In particular he has considerable experience with commercial debt recovery and personal injuries and compensation. Since joining our team he has been enjoying the challenges of being a general practitioner.

Jeffrey is dedicated to working with clients to resolve their problems. He can often be found at the Supreme Court Library after hours and on weekends researching case law in relation to the particular circumstances of one of his clients. He is an avid reader of law publications to which he often refers during the files that he works on.

Jeffrey appears in the Family Court of Australia, the Magistrates Court and the District Court. He can be relied upon to be thoroughly prepared and informed prior to any court appearance.

Jeffrey forms very positive relationships with  clients. Many clients report that the passion and determination that he has demonstrated throughout their matter has been most impressive and highly appreciated.
